Hi, my name is Debbie, and I am definitely a "soap addict"!
I started to purchase homemade soap and immediately felt the difference on my skin. I was hooked! I have also used essential oils for the past seven years and love aromatherapy. Recently, I have rekindled my desire to grow a garden full of fresh herbs and vegetables and I have enjoyed walking out to my garden and gathering fresh, healthy, and flavorful food. So it was only natural that I would fully enjoy putting all of this together in order to create some incredible soap!
Making soap is a practice in patience for me (it may not be a strong asset of mine; who knew!). When I finish making a loaf of soap, I can hardly wait to start using it; however, soap needs to cure in order to release excess water and become hard; that can take up to six weeks or more. You will notice in the descriptions of each bar of soap, I mention that it is either made with Cold Process or Hot Process. Both make wonderful soap. With Hot Process, I am able to add oils or butters as Super Fats after the saponification process is basically done. Saponification is the chemical reaction between the Sodium Hydroxide (lye) and the oils/fats necessary to make soap. Because of the use of heat, the lye has done its job and has been neutralized before the soap batter has even been put into the mold. This allows for the curing time to be 2-4 weeks with Hot Process. Cold Process allows me to create interesting designs and patterns that are not possible with HP and offers limitless, creative opportunities! When the soap batter is poured into the mold, the saponification is still going on. Thus, the cure time is 4-6 weeks, on average, with Cold Process soap. When saponification is complete, there is no longer any lye. The results are gentle and lovely, cleansing soap that can be used from top to bottom! And a soaping experience that treats all of your senses! Enjoy, my friends!
Please Note:
When you receive your handmade soap, know that it is special and unique. This is the fun part for me, I LOVE cutting my soap loaves and seeing how different each bar is. The bar you purchase may look a bit different from the picture posted because of all the variations in patterns throughout the loaf and the process of being handcrafted. When you reorder your favorite, it will be the same recipe, but another unique creation!

In order to have your bar of soap last for as long as possible, keep it out of standing water, place it in a dryer area of the shower, or in a draining soap dish next to your sink which allows the soap bar to dry out between uses.
It is possible to have an allergy to particular oils, butters, fragrances, spices, or herbs, etc. That is why I have listed ingredients used in the creation of each bar. FO designates, fragrance oil and EO designates, essential oils. Singing Bird Soap is not responsible for allergic reactions. Discontinue use if you experience any type of negative reaction and please contact me. I have helped others who have allergies with certain ingredients and have made custom recipes for them. On the other hand, please continue use and enjoy if you experience positive reactions, LOL!
